Welcome back at Groezrock, tonight it will be show nr 6. Can you remember anything from the last shows?

I remember that there was a huge stage invasion with the last song. Belgium is always crazy and that's we always want.

30 years SOIA: congratulations with that, What is the secret for making 30 years of music?

We just keep writing and only music that's Sick Of It All music and not that's a populair song and try to make a song like that. We don't care what's popular and that kind of stuff.

Are you going to do something specials this year for celebrating 30 years of Sick Of It All?

This year we are putting a book for our 30 year anniversary. It's not like a story, it will be a photo book from the beginning until now. Inside the last page, there gonna be a 10” vinyl with 5 new songs. These songs are also available as digital download. It will be great.

Are you still nervous before going on stage?

No, those are the things I life for, Other things were I life for are my wife and daughter.

You played in a lots of countries? Are there still countries on your lists that you wanna play?

Yeah, there are a couple of places like Africa and Sud-East Asia so maybe once a day.

How do you prepare yourself for a live show? All your shows are so energetic, where does all that energy come from?

The music off course. That's what music does to us. Even when I'm watching a great band I'm doing a lot of yeahs!!! I also doing a warm-up (stretching) a hour before the show.

Sick Of It All are always playing for a lot of people but last year in Germany on Rock Im Revier I think maybe 50 people showed up. Wasn't that weird? Can you remember anything from that show?

That was a cool show. Sometimes we play in The United States really small shows but those people want to see us so you can't be disappointed. I'm happy if there people showed up, those people are you're fans so you come on stage and play the same songs with the same energy. We are always doing to do our best.

Sick Of It all is touring every year, isn't that difficult for your familie's and friends?

For 9 years my wife was my guitar tech and then we've got a baby. But now we are doing a 3 week tour in the beginning of the year and one in the end of the year and between a 5-7 day tour. Everyone except the bass player has kids. Kids needs a dad.

Your last album 'the last act of defiance' is a new succes. Are you going to play a few songs of that album tonight?

Tonight we aren't play a lot of songs from that cd, we are playing more of our carrier songs.

This album is an outright indictment of the government, the way they let the people ignorant and tempt you with false information. Is it difficult to choose the topics or do you have too many topics?

It's pretty easy (laughs). Just watch the news and twisted how the governments are, how they feed the people how they want. They tell you how to think about the news and it sucks that a lot of people don't see that. Sometimes it's true what they tell (laughs).

Who is your favorite president candidate?

I really don't know, maybe Bernie Sanders. Definitely not Donald Trump. If you go back a few years. Donald Trump was Hillary Clinton biggest supporter. What's the best way to get into her? That's to be a president. He is a racist asshole! So everyone is voting for her.

The new album reminds me a lot of ‘Scratch The Surface’ do you get this comment more often?

Not specifically ‘Scratch The Surface’ but more the old school sound.

You chose again for Tue Madson as producer. What makes him so special to work with?

He is the only person to capture our live energy and put it on a record. He is a fan of our for years and before working with us he came to all our shows and sit there and listening, watching and then told us I can do this! That definitely works.

Mad Joe Black from Wisdom In Chains lent his voice on your album. Why did you chose him?

He is a good friend of us and he's got a good voice (laughs).

Any idea how many shows you’ve played in all those years?

I really don't now, more than 1000 shows I think.

What will the future bring?

Playing more music, these is the only job we have.

Are you having other hobby's?

I do excursions/training a lot.

Can you describe Sick Of It All in 3 words?

Fury - Energy - Power
