Face To Face, wie kent ze ondertussen nog niet in de punkrock wereld. Ze speelden al op allerlei Belgische festivals zoals Pukkelpop en staan dit voorjaar opnieuw op Groezrock. Voor hun 25ste verjaardag keert de band terug naar het label waar het allemaal begon (Fat Wreck Chords). Hun debuut album 'Don’t Turn Away' bracht de band tevens uit via Fat Wreck.

Frontman Trever Keith legt verder uit: "The decision to go back to Fat was a no brainer. We knew we wanted to make a more back-to-basics punk rock record, something more like our early days. Fat Wreck Chords was an obvious choice. After 25 successful years in punk rock, it’s a label that speaks for itself. In lots of ways it feels like coming home. With that trust in place, it allowed face to face to spend less time in the control room and more time focusing on their performances and on the songs themselves, resulting in what feels like an instant classic from the first listen. “This is the first time where [bassist] Scott [Shiflett] and I were willing to take a reduced role [in production]. We were laid back, open minded, and open to suggestions. Bill’s influence on the song arrangements and background vocals was key in giving the record the sound that it has. Not every idea Bill had ended up being used, but we certainly listened to everything that Bill, Jason Livermore and Andrew Berlin had to say and I think it’s a better record for it."

Dit nieuwe Face To Face album er eentje om in te kaderen. Naarmate de band ouder wordt, worden ook de nummers volwassener. Het persoonlijke hoogtepunt is toch de albumopener Bent But Not Broken. Andere top nummers zijn Double Crossed en Say What You Want. Dat het album onder handen is genomen door producer Bill Stevenson (Descendents) is natuurlijk top. Met zo'n producer in huis weet je als band dat je net dat tikkeltje meer kunt neerzetten. De band gaat tevens een aantal vroegere albums re-releasen op vinyl aangezien ze dit jaar hun 25ste verjaardag vieren. Wie de band snel nog eens aan het werk wilt zien moet gewoon eind april afzakken naar Groezrock voor een ongelofelijke punkrock avond. Wij zijn alvast van de partij.
