Malevolent Creation is één van de bekendste death metal bands in de metal wereld. 24 jaar lang gooit deze band alleen maar met vuur, want geen enkel ander genre zal deze band ooit spelen. Death ‘till the end!

Zoals je leest, deze band bestaat al sinds 1987. Zanger Bret Hoffmann, gitarist Phil Fasciana en bassist Jason Blachowicz zijn de drie bandleden die aanwezig waren vanaf het begin tot het heden. Uiteindelijk kwamen drummer Justin DiPinto en gitarist Gio Geraca ook nog in Malevolent Creation.

Maar in 2015 kondigde de band wel aan dat ze meer agressiever, zwaarder en vooral veel creatiever zouden omgaan met death metal. De band wil meegaan met de tijd en hebben met het nieuwe album ‘Dead Man’s Path’ één van de bruutste death metal albums ooit gemaakt. De band legt uit: "Instead of listening back to hundreds of old riffs and ideas, we just used the music we put together in that rehearsal room and kept what was written in that first week of intense jamming and demo making. Just good to know we still have it all and can go back and listen to the music we didn’t end up putting on this new album."

Het album ‘Dead Man’s Path’ is excentriek. Het is het standpunt van Malevolent Creation en het is daarnaast werkelijk één van de beste albums van deze band. Het geeft perfect weer hoe de band is gegroeid doorheen de laatste 25 jaar. Daarnaast geeft het een mooie weergave van death metal en zijn uiteenlopende karakter weer. Malevolent Creation brengt met ‘Dead Man’s Path’ een mix van agressie en traagheid, wat de perfecte combinatie is voor de death metal van deze band. Daarnaast zullen de lyrics zich uitbreiden naar de verontrustende verhalen van de sociale media, alsook naar het persoonlijke leven van de bandleden.

"Just like any album, I want fans to be happy and love the music as much as we do. We are fans of music and write music we want to hear. What I know is that we are a bunch of metalheads from the 80’s. We are what we are. We are not going to change. If people understand that, then great! You have to accept change these days even though it’s different and difficult at times. At the end of the day we are still doing what we love. And that is playing punishing, relentless death metal." Een duidelijke boodschap voor alle Malevolent Creation-fans, die het nieuwe album ‘Dead Man’s Path wel eens willen beluisteren.
